Lessons

I am Ana, a pianist and teacher. On this website, you will get to know me, my work as a piano performer and information about my piano lessons.

You can also take a look at my concert agenda and my projects, as well as a gallery where I share some of my recordings and pictures.

If you are willing to receive piano lessons at any level, you need a pianist for an event or concert or you just want to follow my path and know about upcoming events, you are in the right place!

Who am I

From a very young age I was captivated by the piano and I knew that music would be an essential part in my life. I started playing the piano when I was 6 years old in my hometown, Elda (Alicante, Spain). When I was 18, I decided to go to Zaragoza (Spain) to study the Bachelor’s Degree of Classical Piano with Miguel Ángel Ortega. In 2021, I moved to Zwolle (The Netherlands), where I live now and I graduated from a Master’s Degree of Classical Piano with Frank van de Laar.

During my musical training, I have received also masterclasses from great pianists such as David Kuyken, Josep Colom, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Alfonso Gómez, Luis and Víctor del Valle, Vitaly Pisarenko among others.

In addition to solo playing, I also give chamber music recitals. Especially, I have given a lot of concerts with piano trio (violin, cello and piano), but also duos with string instruments or singers. At the moment, I am part of Sabina Duo with the cellist Clara Sánchez, and Don·nes Trio with Eider Armendariz (violin) and Mirjam Kwebeman (saxophone).

Besides, during my career I have also been awarded in different national and international piano competitions, winning some first and second prizes:  Special prize in II International Competition “Vila de Xàbia” (2014), 2nd price in 15th National Competition of Interpretation “Intercentros Melómano” (2016),  1st prize in II Piano Competition “Rotary Club Elda-Vinalopó” (2017) and 1st prize in III Competition “Villa de Pinoso” (2017). These competitions also gave me the opportunity to give a lot of concerts as a soloist.

Apart from playing the piano, my biggest passion is teaching. For me, teaching means sharing, spreading love for music and art, asking questions, searching new paths and also learning from students. I truly believe that sharing is my most important goal with music, so in my teaching practice, the main goal is believing and make my students believe in the message that music is a thing for everyone and it is a means of communication. Then, in addition to my piano development, I have also received masterclasses and been part of workshops related to music and piano education, based on new methodologies and piano didactics. I started giving lessons in 2016 and, since then, I have experience teaching to people of all ages and levels.

Currently, I am a piano teacher in my own location in Zwolle, in Muzecollectief in Zutphen and in Rivers International School in Arnhem. I also work as a collaborative pianist in Muzehof Centrum voor de Kunsten in Zutphen and as a freelancer.
